Roland Ricard Obituary

Roland A. Ricard, 79, of Ellington, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2013, at Rockville General Hospital.

He was born in Stafford Springs, son of the late Armand and Clerina (Plasse) Ricard. Roland retired as head of maintenance from St. Joseph's Residence in Enfield. He was a member of St. Luke Parish, and the Moose Lodge in Tolland. In addition, Roland enjoyed racing his off-road Jeep, Friday night racing at Stafford Motor Speedway, playing horseshoes, and family picnics.

Roland is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Anna (Goldsnider) Ricard; two children, Kenneth Ricard, and his wife, Suzanne, and Doreen Brady, and her husband, Shawn; five grandchildren, Ashley, Jeremy, Stephanie, Hilary, and Sheila; three siblings, Claire Heck, and her husband, Gilbert, Lionel Ricard, and his wife, Alice, and Jeanette Guerrette, and her husband, Rene; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling hours are on Wednesday, July 3, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Introvigne Funeral Home Inc., 51 E. Main St., Stafford Springs.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 4, 2013, at 10 a.m. at St. Luke Church, 141 Maple St., Ellington. Burial will follow in Ellington Center Cemetery, Ellington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Crystal Lake Volunteer Fire Department, 316 Sandy Beach Road, Ellington, CT 06029.
