Susan Redmond

Susan Redmond, 67, of Somers, entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 29, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital.

She was predeceased in 1992 by her husband, Merton W. Redmond, who was her teenage sweetheart and the only love of her life. Susan was born in Hartford on July 22, 1946, to the late Harry and Esther (Leonard) McGowan. She recently retired from Parker Hannifin Cylinder Division of Enfield, where many of her co-workers were like family. Susan lived for the weekends to watch NASCAR racing and cheer for her favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr., No. 88. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends including her best friend and companion, her dog, Muffy.

Susan is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Bugden, and her children, Ben and Kelsey Bugden, of Somers, and her daughter, Cathy Rondinelli, and her husband, Peter, and their daughter, Tori Rondinelli, of West Springfield, Mass.; her sister and dear friend, Jan Stevenson, and her husband, Don, of Cocoa, Fla.; her brother, Greg McGowan, and his wife, Patti McGowan, of Coventry; her in-laws, Ernie Redmond, Everett and June Redmond, Cliff and Phyllis Redmond, Alfred and Lynn Redmond, Lawrence and Lynn Redmond, Bob and Cindy White, Jean Henry, and Evelyn Lucia; and many nieces and nephews.

Susan's family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Michael Teiger for his wonderful care, compassion, and the gift of his sense of humor.
