Angel Luis Cartagena, 61, of Enfield, entered into eternal life Friday, Nov. 2, 2018, surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of his home. He was the beloved husband of Jolie (Woods) Cartagena.

Born March 29, 1957, in Cayey, Puerto Rico, to Georgina (Martinez) Cartagena and the late Bernardo Cartagena, he had resided in Enfield for the past seven years and in Windsor Locks and Bloomfield prior to that. Angel was employed as a maintenance technician with the Felician Sisters Provincial, Enfield, for the past eight years and with St. Bernard School, Enfield. Angel loved to play the conga and watching karate and war movies. He also loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Jolie, he is also survived by his mother, Georgina Cartagena; his children, Noemi Cartagena of Waterbury, Julie Cartagena of Enfield, and Angelica Cartagena of New Britain; his beloved grandchildren, Giana, Alexia, Ronnie, Elijah, Kendrick, Janiah, and Angel; as well as his siblings, Maria Cartagena of Bloomfield, Maritza Cartagena of Cayey, Puerto Rico, and Pedro Cartagena of Hartford; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

His family would like to especially thank the Felician Sisters for their donations, prayers, and support.

Angel's family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday, Nov. 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield, followed by a memorial service at 7 p.m. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in the Enfield Street Cemetery, Enfield.
