Anne C. Julian, 89, of Enfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

She was born on March 9, 1924, in Bangor, Maine, one of seven children of the late Peter and Margaret (Keefe) Julian.
Anne is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Donna Nichols Murphy and Dennis Francis Murphy; and her sister, Theresa Deveau. She was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Julian Hersey, and her husband, Walter, and Margaret Julian; and three brothers, James Julian, Joe Julian, and Francis Julian. She was also predeceased by her brother-in-law, Calvin Deveau.
Anne attended John Bapts High School in Bangor. She moved from Bangor to Boston, Mass., with her daughter, Donna. Anne worked at Raytheon, where she turned down a promotion to move near her sister in Portland, Maine. In 1960, while in Portland, she attended a business college, and then attended a beautician school and passed the Gorham State Exam. Anne and Donna then moved to Bangor to open "The Roma Beauty Salon" and she later worked for Francis Julian and Katherine at the Pizza Roma Restaurant. In 1965, Anne worked for a shoe manufacturer. A year later she was hired by Hamilton Standard where she worked in electronics, retiring in 1986. Anne lived in Vernon for 29 years before entering Farmington Care Convalescent Home in November 2006. She later transferred to Parkway Pavilion in Enfield where she resided for approximately three years. Anne's interests included gardening, photography, cooking, and reading, especially autobiographies. She loved going to the ocean with her daughter, Donna, and sister, Margaret, with whom she often traveled. Holidays were spent with the Deveau family, including Terry, the late Cal, the late Calvin Jr., Katherine and Michael DelGiudice, their children, Brandon, Shannon, and Brittany, Paul Deveau, and Louis Lista, Brandon's wife, Amy, and their child, Talia, the late Tonia Rochelle and Zoe Rochelle and their two children, Zoe Jr. and Simone.
Funeral services and burial for Anne will be held privately. Arrangements have been entrusted to Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels.
