Barbara C. Green (Calchera), 82 of Raymond, New Hampshire, passed away unexpectedly in her home June 15, 2018.

She was born Nov. 29, 1935, in Stafford Springs, the daughter of the late Mariano and Rene P. Calchera. Barbara and her family moved to New Hampshire 48 years ago. She worked as a secretary for former Connecticut Gov. Ella Grasso and then in the Hampton School District at Hampton Academy. She played piano and sang chorus with the barbershop affiliations, the Sweet Adelines and the Harbor Bells. She loved to watch golf, baseball, basketball, old westerns, and the Hallmark channel.

She is survived by her son and daughter in-law, Christopher and Tammy Hickey of Barrington, New Hampshire; grandsons, Joshua of Beverly, Massachusetts and Aidan of Barrington; and granddaughter Alexandra Bertone of Strafford, New Hampshire, two great-grandchildren; companion, James Green of Raymond; sisters, Constance Swatik of Stafford Springs, Diane Novak of West Springfield; and her brother, Mark Calchera of Tolland; along with many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at her son's house, 18 Hillside Drive, Barrington, Saturday, Aug. 4, from 3 to 5 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Aug. 18, at 11 a.m. at St. Edward Church, 6 Benton St., Stafford Springs. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery in Stafford Springs.
