Barbara Jean (Slisz) Colpitts, 71, of Vernon, beloved wife of the late Lincoln L. Colpitts, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018, at Hartford Hospital.

She was born on Feb. 14, 1947, in Hartford, daughter of the late John and Doris (Lajoie) Slisz. Barbara grew up in West Hartford and was a graduate of Conard High School, Class of 1965. She was a resident of the Ellington/Vernon area for many years and loved to spend time with friends and family since her retirement from Park Trucking. Barbara loved and adored her family and cherished every moment she had to spend with them. She would often be the first to offer a helping hand to anyone in need.

She leaves her daughter, Lisa Daab of Webster, Massachusetts; her sister, Patricia Anorga and her husband, Mario of Vernon; her grandchildren, Cory Wilcox, Miranda Daab, Justin Daab, and Kyle Daab; her nieces, Laurie Anorga, and Kristen Anorga and her fiancé, Brian Spencer. She also leaves, and was inseparable from her best friend, Susan Bishop of Belfast, Maine, who will miss her dearly.

Her family will welcome friends on Monday, Dec. 10, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the Ladd Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Rd., Vernon.
