Carol Ann Begley

The Guest Book is expired.

On Monday, June 4, 2018, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Carol Ann Begley, passed away suddenly in her home at the age of 70.

She lived in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, but originated from Ellington and Chicopee, Massachusetts. Carol graduated from Chicopee High School in Chicopee and attended Holyoke Community College in Holyoke, Massachusetts, for journalism.

Carol worked as a certified nurse's aide and then for many years as a visiting nurse. She was honored in her career as Visiting Nurse of the Year. She also volunteered for many years with the Ellington Volunteer Ambulance as a volunteer EMT.

She was full of life, energetic, compassionate, would do anything for anyone, and helped anyone who needed it. With a silly and playful sense of humor, she loved to dance and sing. She made people feel loved and special, and filled a room with her presence and joy.

Carol is predeceased by her mother and father, Dorilla and Lincoln Taylor; as well as her siblings, Lincoln Taylor Jr., Ruth Torza, and Robert Taylor. She is survived by her loving husband, John Joseph Begley; son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Jennifer Begley of Wheat Ridge, Colorado; her daughter and son-in-law, Mindy and Andy Morgan of Smithsburg, Maryland; her grandchildren, Cade, Jocelyn, and Miles Begley of Wheat Ridge and Avery, Angela, and Aidan Morgan of Smithsburg. She also leaves behind her brothers-in-law, James Begley of Massachusetts and Ackey Torza of Connecticut; her nephews, James Begley Jr., Wayne Taylor, and Daniel Taylor of Massachusetts, David Torza of Connecticut; as well as her nieces, Maria Torza, Beverly Scavetta, and Joan Cyr of Connecticut, and Patty Torza of California. Carol also leaves a vast number of cousins, relatives, and dear friends who meant the world to her and who will deeply miss her loving presence.

A celebration of life will be held at St. Luke's Catholic Church fellowship hall in Ellington, Aug. 18, at 10 a.m.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Visiting Nurse and Health Care Services, Hospice & Palliative Care, 8 Keynote Drive, Vernon, CT 06066.
