Carol Anne (Tietz) Henderson, 77, of Windsor, beloved wife for over 57 years of Alexander (Dave) Henderson, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at her home.

Born in Indianapolis, Ind., to the late Alphonse and Mary (Patterson) Tietz, she was raised in Indianapolis, graduating from Sacred Heart High School and met her husband, Dave, while working in the Army Finance Center in Indiana. Together they moved to Connecticut after their marriage in 1956, and she has been a Windsor resident for over 40 years. Carol was a member of St. Joseph Church in Poquonock. She obtained her bachelor's degree from Central Connecticut State University and worked as a registrar at the Westminster School in Simsbury and at the circulation desk of Windsor Public Library, where she continued to volunteer after retirement. Carol enjoyed golfing, reading, crocheting, playing piano, studying German, camping and travel with her husband, but most important to her was her family who will miss her dearly.

Besides her husband, Dave, of Windsor, she is survived by her children, Bonnie Snow and her husband, Jeffrey, of Southwick, Mass.; Cary Henderson and his wife, Robin Sherwood, of Bloomfield; and David Henderson and his wife, Heidi Lindberg, of Windsor; her grandson, Matthew Snow and his fiancée, Lindsey Gouvain; her granddaughter, Annie Snow; and her grandson, Daryl Dwyer, and his fiancée, Robin Surwilo; her great-grandchildren, Blaise and Chase; her sisters, Mary Frances Crampton of Indianapolis, Ind., and Patricia Newman and her husband, Jack, of Indianapolis, Ind.; her brother, Anthony Tietz, and his wife, Jane, of Avon, Ind.; her sister-in-law, June Henderson, of Southwick, Mass.; and many loving nieces and nephews.

A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, at St. Joseph Church, 1747 Poquonock Ave., Poquonock, followed by burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Poquonock.

Her family will receive friends on Monday, Feb. 17, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Carmon Poquonock Funeral Home, 1816 Poquonock Ave., Poquonock.
