Christine (D'Amato) Boscarino, 89, of Windsor, passed peacefully Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018.

Born in Hartford, Christine "Chris" was a longtime resident of Windsor. Chris worked for many years in the billing department of Phoenix Insurance Co. and was a parishioner of St. Gabriel Church. Most notably, Chris had a sincere love of children, having eight of her own, and was happiest surrounded by the antics and laughter of her brood, eventually including 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Chris also loved coffee at any hour, and feeding the birds outside her home. Family and friends of Chris will undoubtedly remember her fondly for her tenacious nature, quick wit, unique cooking techniques, and generous spirit.

Chris was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Philomena (Sponzo) D'Amato; her husband, Luigi "Gene;" brothers, Archangelo and Michael D'Amato; and daughter, Virginia. Chris is survived by sons, Thomas and his wife, Cynthia, of Ellington, Michael and his wife, Kathleen, of Columbia, Robert of East Hampton, Mark and his wife, Lauri, of Ellington; as well as daughters, Rosanne of Windsor, Joanne, and Lisa and her husband, Ed Simoni, of Newington. Additionally, Chris leaves behind 12 grandchildren, Brent and his wife, Jessica, Michelle (Ackerman) and her husband, Gabriel, Nicole (Roma) and her husband, Vincent, Sandra (Mishriky) and her husband, Mark, Christi (Elligers) and her husband, Kyle, Justin Vozzolo, Morgan Vozzolo, Cara, Joshua, Dana, Brittany, and Benjamin. Chris will also be missed by seven great-grandsons, Wynn, Ryder, Oliver, Levi, Remy, Owen, and Hudson; and by her dear sister, Rosemary Barnett of Windsor.

The family would like to express gratitude to the compassionate and hardworking staff at St. Francis Hospital and the Palliative Care Center for their care of Christine.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to invite donations to a cause Chris was committed to, , 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Her family will receive friends Friday, Dec. 7, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Gabriel Church, 379 Broad St., Windsor. Burial will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
