Cynthia "Cindy" M. Maggio of Enfield and a cancer survivor of 15 years, entered into eternal life at the age of 70, after losing her second struggle to cancer on Wednesday, March 5, 2014. She was surrounded by her loving family at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford.

Cindy was the beloved wife of 49 years to Charles "Chic" J. Maggio Jr. She was born June 29,1943, in Dover, N.H., daughter of the late Ruth Lambert. She had resided in Enfield for the past 49 years and in New Hampshire before that. Cindy was employed as a bookkeeper for JC Penney in Windsor Locks and then with Figaro's Restaurant in Enfield for 30 years before retiring a few years ago. Cindy was a member of St. Patrick Church, Mount Carmel Women's Auxiliary, Italian Women's Club and a scrap-booking club. She bowled with Bradley Bowl Women's League for 24 years. To help support St. Joseph's School, Cindy started a successful weekly Bingo. She was a generous woman, always helping others. Cindy loved tradition (she was famous for her Easter pie) such as holding family gatherings at her home or at Wells Beach, Maine, and simply spending time with loved ones. Cindy attended all her granddaughter's soccer games and was an avid UConn women's basketball and Red Sox fan.

Besides her husband, Chic, she is survived by her loving children, Charles J. Maggio III, of West Hartford, Dayna Lawlor and husband, Sean, of Enfield and Nicholas R. Maggio of Enfield; and her cherished granddaughter, Ariana Maggio, who held a very special place in Cindy's heart while still embracing Cameron and Brendan Lawlor. She is also survived by a brother, Arthur Lambert and wife, Victoria; her sister, Janet Pelley; and brother, Zane Chase and wife, June, all from Rochester, N.H.; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother-in-law, William Pelley; and sister-in-laws, Patricia Maggio and Joanne Maggio.
