Daniel L. Barry, Sr., 67, beloved husband of 45 years to Mary Ann Barry of Vernon, passed away on Oct. 24, 2018.

He was born in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, on March 1, 1951, one of 11 children born to parents Robert and Ann Barry. He received his bachelor's degree in accounting from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and enjoyed a successful career in the insurance industry. Dan retired as chief financial officer of Orion Capital Corporation. Dan was active in the community and was a long standing member of St. Bernard Church, past member of the church finance committee, and past chairman of the Rockville Hospital board of directors. He was a passionate golfer as a former member of The Golf Club at Indigo Run in Hilton Head, South Carolina, as well as Ellington Ridge Country Club. Over the years Dan enjoyed countless rounds alongside his wife and fellow golf enthusiasts. He enjoyed family vacations as well as Hilton Head Island, where he and his wife lived for 13 years. Dan looked forward to holidays sharing special moments with his family and grandchildren. As a grandfather, Dan was exceedingly proud of them. Although busy at times throughout his life, Dan made his family and especially his wife and children his number one priority.

In addition to his wife, Mary Ann, he leaves his son Daniel L. Barry, Jr. and his wife, Johanna of Massachusetts; and daughters Melinda Barry and her partner, Cathie Ciccomascolo of West Hartford, and Kimberly Spocogee and her husband, Jeremy of Missouri; as well as his adored grandchildren, Gabby, Bianca, Brayden, and Laney. He is also survived by 10 siblings, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

At Dan's request, private services were held for his family.

Anyone wishing to honor his memory may do so by making a donation to St. Bernard Church, 25 St. Bernard Terrace, Rockville, CT 06066 or Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 8th Ave, New York, NY 10001.
