On Oct. 6, 2018, Daniel P. Etienne motored off to an amazing new fishing spot in a gated community called Heaven.

Married to his forever love, Cindy Nardslico Etienne, Dan was a wonderful husband for over 46 years. Dan was an amazing father to their two children who have always admired his drive, courage, and protection. Dan will forever be remembered by his daughter, Kristie Bourdoulous, her husband Paul, and his two incredible grandchildren, Chloe and Nicholas; his daughter, Nichole Collins, her husband, Patrick, and two more incredible grandchildren, Grace and Mabel. Dan is survived by his cousin and lifelong friend, Ray Etienne; and Dan's godson, Ryan Etienne; his dear friend, Dean Beaudet and wife, Sally; and countless friends that have impacted his life. Dan also leaves a sister and brother.

Dan was a master electrician and was the founder and sole owner of Daniel's Electric Inc. in South Windsor for 40 years. Dan retired his business in 2017 in good standings and was very proud of his achievement. Dan wishes to express his sincere thanks to his remaining employees, and for the love and support from his honorary brother, Joey LaPierre, and his family.

In health and in sickness Dan was always known to smile. He loved life. He enjoyed boating and offshore fishing and could often be found on his boat, the Gambler. Dan's final fishing trip was on the Renegade for his last of many Boats Inc. fishing tournaments, with the support of his team.

Dan is deeply loved by his wife, daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, many godchildren, extended family, and lifelong friends. Dan was full of fun, laughter, mischief, and love. Even in his final days he never passed up an opportunity to be with the boys.

Dan passed after a heroic battle with a rare brain disease called progressive supranuclear palsy. Thank you to the incredible support team of caregivers over the years, Aleksandra, Silvia, Eve, and Grace; our doctors, Dr. Machado and Dr. Honig; and the PSP community that we have come to know so deeply.

Dan's strength, spirit, and love will be with us "Forever and Always."

We ask family and friends to join us Thursday, Oct. 11, for a Mass to be held at St. Margaret Mary Church, 80 Hayes Road, South Windsor, beginning at 10 a.m. Following the Mass, a celebration of Dan's life will be held at Maneeley's Grand Lodge, 65 Rye St., South Windsor, between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Services will conclude with a private burial.
