Diane (Welesky) Fromerth, 70, of South Windsor, wife of the late Harry R. Fromerth, died peacefully on Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital surrounded by her family.

She was born on June 4, 1943, in Hartford, daughter of the late Anthony J. and Evelyn (Blais) Welesky. Diane was a graduate of East Windsor High School with the Class of 1961. She graduated from Manchester Community College in 1988 and went on to obtain a bachelor's degree from the University of Connecticut in 1993. Diane worked for The Hartford for 29 years before retiring in 2009. Diane was a highly intelligent woman who enjoyed reading and traveling. She was a strong, independent, and generous woman who had a wonderful sense of humor.

She leaves her children, James H. Fromerth, and his wife, Sarah, Cynthia Milewski, and her husband, William, and Eric A. Fromerth, and his wife, Gretchen, all of Manchester; her sister, Ruth Dechene of East Windsor; nine grandchildren, Kyle Milewski, and his wife, Catherine, Tatum Fromerth, Riley Fromerth, Brittany Koehler, and her husband, Cody, Jacob Fromerth, Katie Kasica, Cody Pearce, Amanda Fromerth, Aaron Fromerth; and two great-grandchildren, Chevy and Hudson Koehler. She was predeceased by her son, William H. Fromerth.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at St Francis Hospital for their loving care.

Family and friends may gather on Friday, Nov. 22, at 8:45 a.m. at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, South Windsor. Burial will follow in Wapping Cemetery, South Windsor. Her family will receive friends on Thursday, Nov. 21, from 3 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, blood or monetary donations may be made in Diane's memory to the American Red Cross Connecticut Regional Chapter, P.O. Box 5003, Hartford, CT 06102-5003.
