Elijah J. Roser, 94, of Bolton, beloved husband of 58 years to Mae (Murdock) Roser peacefully passed away on Friday Sept. 13, 2013, at Manchester Memorial Hospital.

Elijah was born on May 10, 1919, in Staten Island, N.Y., son of the late William and Blanche (Walsh) Roser. He was a veteran of World War II, proudly serving his country in the U.S. Navy and was discharged in 1945 having earned the rank of chief machinist mate. Prior to his retirement in 1977, Elijah was employed as a mechanical engineer with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for more than 28 years.

In addition to his beloved, Mae, he leaves his two sons and daughters-in-law, Walter and Nancy Roser of Manchester and Donald and Lisa Roser of Columbia; three daughters, Linda Nowak of New Britain, Kristine Roser of Washington, and Laurie Roser of Arizona; his six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his sister, Betty Feret of Connecticut.

Calling hours will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at Watkins Funeral Home, 142 E. Center St., Manchester.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial with military honors in Quarryville Cemetery, Bolton.
