Elizabeth S. "Betty" (McCaffrey) Lockwood Filossie, 98, a resident of Enfield since 1924, formerly of New Jersey, died Sunday evening, May 5, 2013, at Blair Manor in Enfield.

She was born in Gloucester City, N.J., a daughter of the late Thomas and Kathryn (Riley) McCaffrey and moved to Connecticut with her family as a young girl. Betty was educated in the Enfield School system and was a graduate of Enfield High School. She was employed for many years with the former Hamilton Standard in the shipping department from which she retired. Betty was a former communicant of St. Martha Church, and a member of the AARP No. 3602. Betty's greatest enjoyment was the time she spent with her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond L. Filossie who died in 2002; and leaves a son, Charles E. Lockwood, and his wife, Mildred, of St. Pete Beach, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Elaine Lockwood of Feeding Hills, Mass.; seven grandchildren, Kimberly, Pamela, Kristina, Charles, Tommy, Timmy, and Jimmy; as well as 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Theodore T. Lockwood in 2012, and her sister, Vera Ruland.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, May 10, at 11 a.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, with Rites of Committal to conclude at St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery, both in Enfield.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday prior to the funeral from 10 to 11 a.m.
