Ellen (Brown) Wilson, 81, of Ludlow, Mass., was called safely home to be with God on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012.

Born in Pittsfield to the late James S. and Helen (Hayes) Brown she graduated from Lee High School and earned her college degree at Bay Path College. Ellen moved to Ludlow in 1955 and worked for over 23 years in the Ludlow Public School System serving as executive secretary to the superintendent. She was a faithful communicant of the former St. Mary of the Assumption Church, where she served as Eucharistic minister and St. Cecilia Church in Wilbraham, where she belonged to the St. Cecilia's Catholic Women's Club and St. Cecilia's Senior Connection.

Sadly, Ellen was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ralph "Brud" Wilson in 1987. She leaves her three loving daughters, Ellen Mislak, and her husband, Michael, of Ludlow, Mass., and their daughters, Lauren and Erin Mislak; Karen Cristina, and her husband Wayne, of Ellington, and their daughters, Amanda Cristina and Allison Cristina and fiancé ,Tim; Patricia Lavigne of Ludlow, Mass., and her sons, Andrew and Daniel Lavigne; Ellen also leaves her cherished cousin, Michael Hayes, and his wife, Sandy, of Lee, Mass.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at 9 a.m. from the Ludlow Funeral Home, 432 East St., Ludlow, Mass., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Cecilia Church at 10 a.m. with interment in Island Pond Cemetery.

Visiting hours are Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ellen's memory to Ministry of Hope Haiti or Ministry of Hope, care of St. Cecilia Church, 42 Main St., Wilbraham, MA, 01095; or to the D'Amour Center for Cancer Care, 3350 Main St., Springfield, MA. 01107.
