Evelyn E. (Kennedy) Crane, 91, of the Broad Brook section of East Windsor, beloved wife for 55 years to the late Earl C. Crane, passed peacefully at home into the loving arms of the Lord on Monday, April 29, 2013.

Evelyn was born May 17, 1921, to the late Edward and Ida (Badstubner) Kennedy. Due to the early demise of her parents, she was raised by Francis and Agnes (Kennedy) Loftus, her aunt and uncle. Evelyn had worked at Balch Motor Sales, the Broad Brook Co., and Hamilton Standard from which she retired in 1983. Evelyn and her husband, Earl, established and operated Broad Brook Gardens for many years. She enjoyed playing the organ, arts and crafts, crosswords, reading, and many activities at the East Windsor Senior Center.
Evelyn is survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends especially Robert and Betty Heim, Dick and Jane Lapenta, John and Gail Ladany, and Nancy and Karl O'Konis.
Relatives and friends may call on Friday, May 3, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Bassinger & Dowd Funeral Home, 37 Gardner St., East Windsor, to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Catherine Church, Broad Brook. Burial will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either St. Catherine Church Stained Glass Window Fund, 6 Windsorville Road, Broad Brook, or the East Windsor Senior Center Activity Fund, 125 Main St., Broad Brook, CT 06016.
