Fay Dresner, after a truly wonderful life, passed away peacefully Nov. 28, 2018, at home.

Fay was born in Columbus, Nebraska, in 1922. She enjoyed a happy childhood with her sisters Ann and Mary Ellen until the family moved to California. Fay graduated in 1942 from UCLA where she earned her bachelor's degree. In later years she obtained her Master of Arts degree in Latin and Spanish. Fay taught Latin at the University of Hawaii for three and a half years. It was there that she met and married Edgar in 1952. Fay and Ed enjoyed many years abroad and visited numerous countries around the world. Edgar received an appointment to work in Indonesia as an entomologist, and Fay taught English to adult Indonesian women. After five wonderful years there, Fay and Ed moved to Costa Rica to work on the Mediterranean fruit fly. At that time, they adopted Frank and Amy. In 1968, the family moved to the U.S. and settled in Vernon. It was there that Fay taught Latin and Spanish at RHS for many years and retired in 1985. Fay and Edgar then enjoyed traveling the world together. Both Fay and Ed were members of the Appalachian Mountain Club and enjoyed hiking the trails in the White Mountains.

Fay's son, Frank, died earlier, as did her husband, Edgar Dresner. She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Amy Dresner of Ellington; and her grandson, Devin Dresner.

All services will be held privately at the convenience of her family.
