Florence J. (Shermer) O'Brien, 71, of Windsor Locks, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at Manchester Memorial Hospital.
Florence was born Aug. 24, 1941, in Hartford, the daughter of the late Anthony and Florence (LaBell) Shermer. Florence enjoyed playing cards and both playing and making Parcheesi boards for family and friends. She also enjoyed cooking for her family.
She is survived by three daughters, Darlene (Benedict) Linders and John Levine of Stafford Springs, Toni (Benedict) Bussiere, and her husband, Rene, and Charlene (Benedict) Kenny, all of Windsor Locks; and a son, Anthony Benedict of Dayville. Florence is also survived by five grandchildren, Carl Linders, Jennifer Dukes, Rene J. Bussiere, Brenda and Melissa Kenny; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Florence was predeceased by a granddaughter, Stephanie Linders; and all her siblings.
A funeral service for Florence will be celebrated on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks.
Relatives and friends can join the family an hour prior to the funeral service from 9 to 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
