Frances "Chickie" E. (Violette) Tournaud, 85, of Manchester, passed peacefully away on March 20, 2013, at the Crestfield Nursing Home. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alexis J. Tournaud Sr., to whom she was married for 36 years.

She is survived by her three children, Marie Tournaud of St. Johnsbury, Vt., and her daughter, Melissa Wine; Alexis J. Tournaud Jr., and his wife, Terry, of Ellington, and their two children, Alyssa and Anthony; and Renee Frost, and her husband, David, along with their son, Matthew, with whom she made her home for 21 years. She also leaves three great-grandchildren.
Frances was born on March 21, 1927, in Hartford, and resided in Manchester for most of her life. She is a graduate of Manchester High School, Class of 1945. She was employed at Travelers in Hartford, St. James Church Rectory in Manchester, and worked part time at House & Hale of Manchester. She also was self-employed as a seamstress and worked out of her home for many years. Frances was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. In Frances' younger years she was a talented ballet dancer. She also enjoyed music, gardening, reading, and knitting.
There are no visitation hours and services and internment will be private.
