Gail D. Phillips, 74, of Manchester, loving daughter of the late Lewis J. and Evelyn (Friche) Phillips, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at Paradigm Healthcare Center of South Windsor after a long illness.

Gail was born on Feb. 21, 1938, in Manchester, attended local schools and was a 1956 graduate of Manchester High School. She had been a lifetime resident of Manchester. Prior to her retirement she was employed with Aetna Life & Casualty and more recently Gail was a proofreader for the former Manchester Evening Herald. Gail had a strong love for dogs, owning many during her lifetime.
She is survived by her two cousins, Albert Phillips of East Hartford and Richard Phillips, and his wife, Sandra, of Manchester; and several second and third cousins. In addition to her parents, Lewis and Evelyn, she was predeceased by her fiancé, Ronnie Stevens, and her cousin-in-law, Anne Phillips.
Her family would like to thank the nurses and entire staff of the Rockwell Unit at Paradigm Healthcare Center of South Windsor for their compassion and wonderful care.
Calling hours will be held Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, from 10 to 11 a.m. with a service at 11 a.m. at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester. Burial will follow in East Cemetery, Manchester.
