Genevieve "Virginia" Romano, 92, of Enfield, widow of the late Joseph F. Romano, entered into eternal peace Wednesday Jan. 30, 2013, at her home.

The daughter of the late Alexander and Anna (Socha) Kwapien, she was born in the Thompsonville section of Enfield and had been a lifelong resident of the community. She had worked at the former Bigelow Sanford Mill, and following she had been employed for over 15 years at the Travelers in Hartford before retiring.
Virginia is survived by her two daughters, Virginia "Ginny" Skrzyniarz, and her husband, Rich, of Enfield, and Elizabeth "Betty Ann" Archambault, and her husband, Arthur, of Stafford Springs; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, Virginia was predeceased by a daughter, Jo-Ann Bartley; a son-in-law, Robert Bartley; a grandson, Arthur Archambault; and three brothers.
Her family wishes to thank Pauline Hayes for her care and compassion over the past two years.
The funeral service and burial will be private.
