Geraldine M. "Gerry" (Cogswell) Dyment, 92, formerly of Clinton, Mass., Manchester, Sudbury, Mass., Old Orchard Beach, Maine, and Englewood, Fla., died peacefully at Beaumont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Northborough, Mass., on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014.

Gerry was born and raised in Clinton, Mass., the daughter of Clarence and Anne (O'Toole) Cogswell. She was a graduate of Clinton High School, class of 1938. Gerry was a housewife, who for many years worked as a secretary at Goodyear Tire in Manchester and Acton Tire in Acton, Mass. She loved knitting, reading, and traveling.

Her happiest moments were spent with her family and friends at beaches in Maine and Florida. Gerry was predeceased by her husband of 36 years, John E. Dyment, who died in 1988; a brother, Edward Cogswell, and a sister; Eleanor Cogswell. She is survived by a son, Edward Dyment of Manchester; a daughter, Maura Dolan and her husband, Thomas, of Westborough; a brother, Richard Cogswell and his wife, Marian, of Spencer; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Whitney Place and Beaumont Skilled Nursing Center, Northborough, Mass., for the compassion, quality care and support shown to Gerry and her family over the last eight years.

Gerry's funeral will be held on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, from the McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St., Clinton, Mass., with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St., Clinton, Mass. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, Lancaster, Mass.

Family and friends are welcome to offer their condolences at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., prior to the funeral Mass.
