Helen F. (Sheehan) Allen, 87, of East Hartford, wife of the late Frank P. Allen, entered into eternal life on Thursday, June 21, 2007, with her family at her side.

Mrs. Allen was born in New London and had been a longtime resident of the East Hartford community. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church in East Hartford. She retired from the A.A.R.P. pharmacy in East Hartford after 13 years of service. She always enjoyed her Manhattans and will be remembered for her sharp and cutting wit, great sense of humor, and pride in her Irish heritage.
Mrs. Allen is survived by her two sons, Stephen J. Allen of Enfield and David F. Allen and his wife, Josephine Roman-Allen, of Plainville; and by sister Agnes Mazzucchi of East Hartford. She also leaves her grandson, Michael Allen of Plainville, and her nephew, John Mazzucchi, and niece Patti Civittolo.
Mrs. Allen's family would like to express their gratitude to the loving and caring staff of Riverside Health Care Center for the eight years of considerations and support given to them.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to gather at the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford on Tuesday, June 26 at 9 a.m. for the procession to Our Lady of Peace Church, 370 May Road, East Hartford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. The interment will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
Mrs. Allen's family will receive callers at the funeral home on Monday, June 25, 2007, from 4 to 7 p.m.
