Howard "Ted" Perry, 82, born in Boston and a longtime resident of East Hartford, passed away Oct. 27, 2018, at Hartford Hospital.

The son of the late Howard and Rose (Strong) Perry, he leaves his wife of 58 years, Gail (Cooper) Perry; and two sons, Glenn of East Hartford and Ross and his wife, Liv, of Jeffersonville, Vermont. He was predeceased in 2017 by his son, Bruce, of Vernon. He also leaves four grandchildren, Ryan, Laura, Matthew, and Eli; his sister, Pauline Pearson of Palm Desert, California; and a brother, Norman Perry and his wife, Mary Louise, of Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts.

His most notable accomplishments were with Troop 67 of the Boy Scouts of America, the Order of the Arrow, East Hartford Little League, and the Connecticut Valley Hockey Club (CVHC), which he started in 1981. Having proudly served his country in the U.S. Army throughout his life, he continued his dedication by becoming a member of VFW Post 2083 in East Hartford. More than a hobby, he enjoyed getting his hands dirty while landscaping and taking care of his yard.

There will be no calling hours.

Funeral arrangements will be private.
