Irma Inez DeSimone, 92, of Manchester, died on Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at Manchester Memorial Hospital, after a short illness.

Irma was born in Manchester, the daughter of Ralph and Angela (Massaro) DeSimone, and had lived here all her life. She was a 1938B graduate of Manchester High School and was an avid New York Yankees and UConn woman's basketball fan. She was a former member of the Italian American Club and participated in many local bowling leagues.
Irma is survived by her nephews and their wives, Joseph DeSimone Jr. and Patricia of Coventry, and Ralph DeSimone and Carol of Manchester; her grandnieces and nephews and their spouses, Brett and Allison DeSimone and Wendy and Stephen Butler; and her great-grand niece, Layla DeSimone. Besides her parents, Irma was predeceased by her brothers, Matt, Joseph, and Anthony DeSimone, and her niece, Beverly DeSimone McWilliams.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 29, at 10 a.m. at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St., Manchester, followed by burial in St. James Cemetery, Manchester. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m.
