Janet M. (Gokey) Rodrigue, 82, of Manchester, former wife of the late Arthur Gokey, and widow of Joseph Rodrigue, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Manchester Memorial Hospital.

Janet was born in Ciota, N.Y., on Oct. 12, 1930, daughter of Napoleon and Theota (Chilioux) Lajammiel. She was raised in New York, came to Connecticut during the 1950s, and had been a resident of Manchester since 1973. Prior to retiring she was employed in Coventry by the Deknetel division of Pfizer Corp. for 25 years. Janet was a parishioner of St. Bridget Church and a member of the Manchester Senior Center. She enjoyed going on trips, polka dancing, ceramic classes, playing cards, and watching spring training baseball with her friends in Fort Myers, Fla.
She is survived by her two sons, Charles Gokey of Manchester and David Gokey of Coventry; her sister, June Lister of Champlain, N.Y.; four grandchildren including her precious angel, Sarah Marie Gokey, and her mother, Susan Igoe; two step-grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 15, at St. Bridget Church, 80 Main St., Manchester, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery in Manchester.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday, April 14, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Watkins Funeral Home, 142 E. Center St., Manchester.
