Jewell F. McDonald, 94, of Enfield, widow of James F. "Jim" McDonald Jr. (1998), entered into eternal peace Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at the Suffield House.

The daughter of the late John J. Sr. and Amy (Fisher) Fuge, Jewell was born and raised in Enfield and was a lifetime resident of the community. She was employed as deputy town clerk for the town of Enfield from 1936-1984, retiring after 48 years of service with the town. She was a member of St. Patrick Church and in her free time, she enjoyed gardening and caring for her home. She also enjoyed car trips all across the U.S. with her late husband, Jim.
Jewell is survived by two sons, James F. McDonald III of Enfield and John F. "Jack" McDonald of Rutland, Vt. She was predeceased by two sisters, Leona Wallace and Mildred Pease; and three brothers, John J. Fuge Jr., Lincoln Fuge, and William Fuge.
Family and friends will gather 9 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, for a procession to St. Patrick Church for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Committal will follow at St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, Jan. 9, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels.
