Joseph Lombardo, 94, entered into eternal rest Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at home.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, son of the late John and Mary (DiCaro) Lombardo, he lived in Enfield for many years. Joseph had a master's degree in education and was the retired principal of Henry Barnard School for many years, and also taught sixth grade elementary school. He retired in 1988 after 19 years in the education field. He also volunteered at the Little Sisters of the Poor, Big Brothers, and was a literacy volunteer. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.

His wife, Rose (George) Lombardo, died in 1995. He leaves three sons, John V. Lombardo, George J. Lombardo, both of Enfield, and Paul S. and his wife, Kate Lombardo, of England; two daughters, Mary J. Robinson of Indian Rocks Beach, Florida, Joanne M. and her husband, William Bagge, of East Longmeadow, Massa-chusetts; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be Wednesday, Jan. 9, at 10:15 a.m. from the Browne Memorial Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield, followed by a Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Church, 128 Maple St., East Longmeadow, with burial in St. Patrick King Street Cemetery, Enfield.

Calling hours are Tuesday, Jan. 8, at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m.
