Kenneth H. Ogren, 91, of Manchester, loving husband for 64 years of Anna Mae (Patch) Ogren, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, at a local convalescent home.

He was born in Hartford on Dec. 12, 1921, to Godfrey and Naomi (Engstrom) Ogren and was raised in Hartford, graduating from Buckley High School, Class of 1940. He enlisted in the Navy, served during World War II as a photographer's mate second class, and came to Manchester in 1955. Ken worked at the Burroughs/Unisys Corporation of Hartford in the business machine repair department for more than 35 years, retiring in the early 1980s, and was then with the Rodco Machine Company of Manchester for more than 20 years. He was a member of Trinity Covenant Church in Manchester and enjoyed golfing, photography, and jigsaw puzzles. He loved roller-skating, and in 1942 was the roller-skating Novice Dance Champion of Northern Connecticut.

With his wife, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Gary Jodoin of Bolton; three grandchildren, Kyle Osborne and her husband, Daniel, Seth Jodoin and his wife, Kristin, and Adam Jodoin and his fiancée, Hannah Coker, all of Bolton; two great-granddaughters, Hannah and Grace Osborne; and several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Ken was predeceased by a son, Carl A. Ogren; his brothers Magnus, Eskiel, Martin, and Everett; and his sisters, Gudrun Lawson, infant Dagny, and Maja Nordin.

A private burial with military honors was held in the East Cemetery in Manchester.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Covenant Church, 302 Hackmatack St., Manchester, on Saturday, Aug. 31, at 11 a.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Covenant Church Memorial Fund.
