Loretta P. Burnham, 84, formerly of the Broad Brook section of East Windsor, widow of Kenneth R. Burnham (1994), entered into eternal peace Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford.

The daughter of the late Arthur and Evelyn (Major) Dennis, Loretta was born in Otter River, Mass. She was currently a resident at St. Joseph's Residence in Enfield for several years, and prior, was a resident of Broad Brook since 1963. She was formerly employed at St. Catherine Church for 10 years, of which she was a longtime communicant, and she was also formerly employed at Hamilton Standard. Being actively involved at St. Catherine Church, she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and was also a Eucharistic minister. Loretta was a busy individual who loved cooking, flower gardening, and enjoyed the company of people, especially family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, JoAnn Burnham of East Windsor, Jean Naughton of Windsor Locks, Joyce Mockalis of Rocky Hill, and Jamie Benham, and her husband, John, of Torrington; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Maxine Judkins, Marjorie West, and Lucille Dennis; three brothers, Donald, Kenneth, and Dean Dennis; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Loretta was predeceased by two grandchildren, Peter James Sullivan and Kenneth Thomas Mockalis; and two brothers, Norman and Richard Dennis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Loretta at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at St. Catherine Church. Please meet at church, 6 Windsorville Road, Broad Brook. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
