Margery Jean (Neumann) Aregood, 82, of Vernon, beloved wife of the late Robert C. Aregood Sr., died peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018, at home, surrounded by her family.

Margery was born Jan. 20, 1936, in Hartford, daughter of the late Emil L. and Jeanie (Townes) Neumann. She grew up in West Hartford and East Hartford. She was married to the love of her life, Robert C. Aregood, Oct. 20, 1956, and they settled in South Windsor. Margery worked for the Town of South Windsor as the police department records clerk. A kind, caring, loving, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, she will be dearly missed.

She leaves her sons, Robert C. Aregood Jr., and his wife, Carol, of Vernon, David S. Aregood and his wife, Paula, of Navarre, Florida, and John W. Aregood of Coventry; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Her family will receive friends Monday, Oct. 15, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 109 Sand Hill Road, South Windsor. Burial will follow in Wapping Cemetery in South Windsor.
