Marian M. (Morse) Marshall, 92, of Vernon passed away Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at Fox Hill Center.

She was born Jan. 10, 1922, in Hyde Park, Mass., to the late Elbert and Florence (Pratt) Morse. She was one of 10 children.

She is survived by her sister, Ruth. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John, to whom she was married for 57 years.

She worked for 25 years as assistant manager for the interior design studio at the former G. Fox department store. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church for 56 years and was one of their original caregivers. She loved chocolate, reading, her sunroom on a sunny day, and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Patricia and David Carter, Gail and James Martello, and Cynthia and Philip Hays, all of Vernon; and her son John and his wife, Christina, of Portland, Ore. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kelly, Kate, Gregg, Jenny, Emily, Zachery, and Haley; and her great-grandchildren Alexander, Nicholas, Trey, Brinn, Domanic and Nathaniel.

The family would like to thank her home caregivers Cindi, Denise, and Diane; the staff at Fox Hill Center especially Maxine, Ann, Linda, Debbie, Elizabeth, and Myrna, and Visiting Nurse Hospice for their special care of our mother. She will be greatly missed by all her friends, but especially by her family who loved and admired her greatly.

Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Friday, Feb. 28, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church's oratory, 550 Hartford Turnpike (Route 30), Vernon.

A funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, March 1, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Parish Center. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery, Rockville.

Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect St., Rockville, is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or American Parkinson Disease Association.
