Marilyn P. Cavanna, 68, of Manchester, beloved wife of Albert Cavanna, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at Hartford Hospital.

Born in Webster, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Walter B. and Cecelia Paprowicz. She graduated from Bartlett High School, Webster, Mass., received her associate's from Manchester Community College, her bachelor's from Eastern Connecticut State University, and her master's from the University of Connecticut. She spent nearly 25 years educating the youth at Manchester High School in mathematics. Marilyn was active at the Manchester Senior Center, where she was an Advisory Board member. An avid reader, she was a member of two book clubs and loved to travel.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Christopher Cavanna, and his wife, Linda, of Manchester, Craig Cavanna, and his wife, Susanne, of Florida, Carolyn Edins, and her husband, John, of Texas, and Casey Cavanna, and his wife, Rachel, of Old Lyme; and her grandchildren, Emma, Danielle, Isabella, Justiss, Aubrie, Matthew, Willow, and Meadow. She is also survived by her very special niece, Jayne Harper; sister-in-law, Ann Gorski; brother, Dick Paprowicz; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption 29 S. Adams St., Manchester.
Family and friends may call at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St., Manchester, on Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, from 4 to 7 p.m.
