Mark D. Caron, 18, beloved son of Gilbert and Linda (Budaj) Caron of East Hartford, passed away on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Connecticut Children's Medical Center after a long, courageous battle with kidney disease.

Born in Hartford on June 7, 1994, he was a lifelong resident of East Hartford. Mark was a history buff, especially the Civil War and an avid fan of the New York Yankees, UConn Huskies basketball, and NASCAR. He was very proud of the fact he was able to vote in his first presidential election.
Besides his parents, Mark leaves a brother, Michael of East Hartford, Michael's girlfriend, Danielle Buczko of Marlborough; and his paternal grandmother, Germaine Caron of East Hartford. He also leaves his aunts and uncles, Michael and Joyce Caron of Stafford, Susan and Timothy Whalen of Enfield, Ronald and Dena Caron of Manchester, Michael Budaj of East Hartford, Christine and Eugene Menard in Florida, Maryann and Gerald Sibley in Florida; and many cousins, especially Jason Caron who was a living donor for Mark's first kidney transplant. Mark was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, John and Ann Budaj; paternal grandfather, Alberie Caron; uncle, John Budaj; and cousin, Jason Whalen.
Mark's family would like to extend their appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Connecticut Children's Medical Center and DaVita Dialysis of Bloomfield for their loving care, professionalism, and compassion during Mark's illness.
Family and friends may gather Friday at 10 a.m. at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Christopher Church, 538 Brewer St., East Hartford. Burial will follow at Wapping Cemetery, South Windsor. His family will receive friends Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
