Martha (Cyr) Daigle, of Stafford Springs, passed away at the age of 93 on April 14, 2014.

Daughter of the late Robert and Elise (Clavette) Cyr of Daigle, Maine, Martha was born in Madawaska, Maine, on Aug. 23, 1920. Martha was employed by Pilch/Dekalb for several years prior to her and her husband running their own poultry farm for Hubbard Farms and Spafa in Stafford Springs. She enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and quilting for which she won local and state awards. She raised six children in the small village of Daigle, Maine, until the family moved to Connecticut in 1959. Martha was a very proud mother, me mère, and grand me mère. She enjoyed preparing large meals for family gatherings and having little children running around in her home.
Martha is survived by her children, Clifford Daigle and wife, Carole, of Enfield, Arlene Hennequin and husband, William, of Woodstock Valley, Bernadette Mastrodonato and husband, Richard, of East Longmeadow, Mass., and Louise Timmerman and husband, Anjo, of Stafford Springs; son-in-law, William Callan of Stafford Springs; her grandchildren and their spouses, Scott and Dawn Daigle, James Jr. and Sen Daigle, Joyce and Robert Orlowski, Julie and Mark Boucher, Janet Ellis, Deana and Michael Allanach, Paige and Troy Anderson, Dawn and John Fonte, Robert and Angie Mastrodonato, Jeremiah Callan, Ryan Callan, Nicole and Ryan Werth, and Danielle and Mark Squires; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred Emond; brother, Adrian Cyr; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, godchildren, and many friends and caring neighbors. Martha was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Albert Daigle; as well as her son, James Daigle Sr.; daughter, Dolores Callan; granddaughter, Kelly Hennequin; brothers, Remie Cyr, Paul Cyr, and Alphy Cyr; and sisters, Maimie Martel and Ida Cyr. She will be greatly missed.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, with a procession forming by 9 a.m. at Introvigne Funeral Home Inc., 51 E. Main St., Stafford Springs, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Edward Church, High Street, Stafford Springs. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs.
