Michael S. Bracken Sr., 81, of Windsor Locks, beloved husband of the late Shirley A. (Crosby) Bracken, entered into eternal rest Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018.

Michael was born June 12, 1937, in Hartford. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the Destroyer USS Conway 507. Michael enjoyed a long career as a letter carrier in the U.S. Postal Service, and also served as president of NALC. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends.

Michael is survived by his children, Laureen A. Zavisza and her husband, Thomas, of Suffield, Michael S. Bracken Jr. of Windsor Locks, Dawn M. Bonetti and her husband, David, of Windsor Locks, and Janet A. Bracken and her significant other, Keith J. Parker, of Windsor Locks; his grandchildren, Jacob L. Fedo of Enfield, Kristy Bonetti of Washington, D.C., and Ashley Bracken of Windsor Locks; his great-grandchild, Gianna L. Fedo of Enfield; his brother, William C. Bracken and his wife, Linda, of Florida; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. In addition to his loving wife, Michael was predeceased by his son, David A. Bracken; and his brother, Charles Bracken.

Visitation hours will be Wednesday, Aug. 8, from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks. A funeral service will follow at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be held Thursday, Aug. 9, at 10 a.m. at Grove Cemetery, 19 School St., Windsor Locks.
