Mildred Gagliardi Slomcinsky, 92, of South Windsor, beloved wife of the late Stanley Slomcinsky Sr., died peacefully Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018, at St. Francis Hospital, surrounded by her family.

She was born June 23, 1926, in East Hartford, daughter of the late Daniel Gagliardi and Anna (Rago) Nadler. Mildred grew up in Hartford. She was a resident of South Windsor for over 61 years. Mildred worked for the South Windsor Bank & Trust, Glastonbury Bank & Trust, the town of East Windsor, and the South Windsor Public Schools over the years. Mickey's (Granny) family was most important to her and she will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an avid Boston Red Sox and UConn women's basketball fan. She also enjoyed spending time at the Rockville and South Windsor Senior Center.

She leaves her daughter, Janet J. Armata and her husband, Todge, of South Windsor; her son, Donald P. Slomcinsky and his wife, Terry, of San Tan Valley, Arizona; her brother, Robert Nadler and his wife, Sheryl, of Scarborough, Maine; her sister, Marian Kamarowski of Glastonbury; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and her daughter-in-law, Bonnie Slomcinsky of Manchester. She was predeceased by her sons, Stanley Slomcinsky Jr., and his wife, Cynthia, and Ronald Slomcinsky.

Her family will receive friends Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon.

Family and friends may gather Thursday, Oct. 11, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home; followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11:30 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Church in South Windsor. Burial will follow at Wapping Cemetery in South Windsor.
