Raymond "Ray" H. Barcomb, of Enfield, entered into eternal life at the age of 89, on Friday, April 12, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital & Medical Center, Hartford. Raymond was the beloved husband of Vincie (Zirolli) Reale Barcomb.

He was born on Jan. 25, 1924, in Queens, N.Y., a son of the late Henry R. and Freida Barcomb, and had resided in Enfield for many years. Ray served his country honorably with the U.S. Navy during World War II on the USS Dallas, was stationed in Hawaii and traveled the Pacific. He was employed with Colt Industries and then retired from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft after many years of service. Ray was a member of St. Adalbert Church, Enfield. Ray had a passion for golfing and in his younger days he caddied for Johnny Weissmuller (Tarzan) and for Abbott & Costello. He also enjoyed all types of music and sang on the radio as well as dancing. Ray loved Frankie's Pizza, where the staff referred to him as "Mr. Sprinkle."

Along with his wife, Vincie, Raymond is also survived by his children, Diedra Gosline and partner, John Roberts, of Windham, Mary R. Fliegel of East Hartford, Cathleen Nassar, and her husband, Kye, of Wales, Mass., Carmela Stauffer and husband, Ken, of Enfield, Thomas Reale and wife, Carmelina, of Enfield and Louis Reale and wife, Lori, of Enfield; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Ray's life will be held on Friday, April 19, 2013, at 11 a.m. in St. Adalbert Church, 90 Alden Ave., Enfield, followed by military honors. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family.
