Renee May Baker, 70, of Windsor Locks, loving wife of Joseph Baker, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at Hartford Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

Renee was born in Montreal, Canada on May 30, 1943, daughter of the late Romeo and Cora (Michaud) LaPierre. Renee was adopted by her aunt and uncle Al and Lill Dubois of Madison, Maine. Renee was a longtime resident of Windsor Locks and was a caring and loving person. She spent most of her adult life working and advocating for both the handicapped and mentally challenged.
In addition to her husband, Joseph, to whom she was married 51 years, she is also survived by their son, John Baker and his wife, Lisa Orchen of Wethersfield, and the loves of her life, her two grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann and John Joseph.
Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, from 2 to 5 p.m. with a wake service at 4:30 p.m. at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks.
A funeral procession will gather at the funeral home by 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 52 S. Elm St., Windsor Locks. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
