Robert (Bob) M. Sheridan, 85, of Vernon, beloved husband for 62 years of Rose (Galipeau) Sheridan, passed away peacefully at a VA Hospice health care facility where his battle with pancreatic cancer ended.

Mr. Sheridan was born Sept. 8, 1927, in Berlin, N.H., to Frank and Mary (Dolan) Sheridan. He attended Berlin High School and continued his education at University of Hartford, receiving a bachelor's degree in accounting. Mr. Sheridan served in the United States Navy for five years during World War II as a hospital corpsman. Robert had a fulfilling career as a financial controller for various small and large companies and retired at the age of 65. He was active with his church. His family and friends were truly the most important things in his life.

Besides his wife, Rose Sheridan, he was the loving father to his children, a son, Thomas and Karen Sheridan of Vernon, their son, Shaun, and daughter, Jennifer, his son, Michael and Debra Sheridan of Ellington, and their sons, Nicholas and Andrew; his sisters, Cecelia Watson, Gorham, N.H., Marion and Frank Oleson, Berlin, N.H.; a brother, William and Barbara Sheridan, Vernon; and a host of nieces, nephews, and longtime friends. Robert was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Cassidy, Frances Gadbois, and Virginia Bourque, and a brother, Frank Sheridan.

Family and friends will be gathering at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect St., Rockville, on Sunday, Jan. 13, from 2 to 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Bernard Church, 25 St. Bernard Terrace, Rockville, on Monday, Jan. 14, at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in Grove Hill Cemetery, Vernon.
