Rolland R. Cote Jr., 66, of Broad Brook, devoted husband of 46 years to Suzanne (Kiejko) Cote, passed from this life on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, with his loving family by his side.

Rolland was born in Hartford on Nov. 26, 1946, the son of Rolland R. Cote and the late Joan (Soucie) Cote. He was a graduate of Manchester High School, Class of 1964, and was employed at ABA Tool and Die in Manchester for 27 years. In 1995, he co-founded and established R&R Tool and Die LLC, where he continued to work until his passing. He was a longtime member of the Broad Brook Angling Club and in 1975 served as Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Campbell Council 573 in Manchester. Rolland's delight was the simple joy of life. He looked forward to summer weekends spent with his sweetheart, Suzie, at the family cottage on Lake Alexander in Dayville where he could cast a line in the hope of netting the "big one," and enjoy family and friends. He will be fondly remembered co-hosting with Suzie, the Cote Fourth of July Celebration on the Lake, an annual event anticipated by all the Cote family and their friends. He loved to garden and finally succeeded this year to outwit the deer from stealing the fruits of his labor. Precious memories celebrating their yearly wedding anniversary in Gloucester, Mass., will be treasured. Long walks with Suzie and the "boys," his beloved labs, Rudy and Cooper, were simple daily pleasures.

In addition to his wife, the love of his life, he bids farewell to three sons, Rolland Cote III, and his wife, Esther, of Enfield, Mark Cote, and his wife, Adrianne, of Ellington, Michael Cote, and his wife, Vonda, of Amston; and three adored grandchildren, Dustin, Lindsay, and Cassondra. He also leaves his father's wife, Georgette; and two sisters, Darlena Pehr and Sandra Ciesones; and many dear friends, customers, and co-workers.

Relatives and friends may call on Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, beginning at 9 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial, to be celebrated at 10 a.m., at St. Catherine Church, 4 Windsorville Road, Broad Brook. Burial will follow in St. Catherine's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Rolland's name may be made to St. Catherine's stained glass window fund.

Rolland's family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the caring and compassionate staff at the St. Francis cardiac intensive care unit.
