A former resident of Suffield, she was a resident of Enfield most of her life, where she was a communicant of Holy Family Church. Ro graduated from Enfield High School, and was employed as a teller at several area banks before recently retiring. She enjoyed spending time at the family cottage, "The Blue House", on Big Averill Lake in Vermont. Rosemary loved her family and especially her grandchildren who held a very special place in her heart.

Besides her loving husband John, to whom she was married for 43 years, and her mother Eleanor, Rosemary is survived by her children, Rene Alderman and her husband, Jeffrey, of Suffield, and John L. Nelson Jr. and his wife, Genevra, of Enfield; her cherished grandchildren, John III and William Nelson, Dominique and Danielle Waite, and Jeffrey Alderman; her sisters, Joyce Mercik and her husband, Robert, of Suffield, and Darlene Licitra and her husband, Robert, of Cape Coral, Fla.; her brother-in-law Richard Guy Nelson III and his fiancé, Mary Beth Rowan, of Enfield; her sisters-in-law Jackie Tuomala and her husband, Jerry, of North Carolina, and Sally Nelson, of Rockville; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, Ro was predeceased by her son, Brian Nelson.

Ro's family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to her many friends and the staff on Floor 8-1 at St. Francis Hospital for their love and care during her illness.
