Russell Frederick Fisher, 55, of Manchester, beloved husband of Nicole (Chapman) Fisher, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018, at Hartford Hospital.

Born on March 20, 1963, in New Brunswick, New Jersey, the son of Marjorie (Tower) Fisher and the late Robert E. Fisher. Russell grew up in New Jersey and Massachusetts, graduating from Wachusett Regional High School in Holden, Massachusetts. Russ met the love of his life, Nicki, at Keene State College, New Hampshire. They married Oct. 15, 1988. He was a member of Kappa-Delta-Phi fraternity. MTSND! Russ was currently working as a manufacturing engineer for the Parker Hannifin Corp. in North Haven and had been previously employed by Gerber Technology in Tolland. Russ loved hiking and skiing, especially at Tuckerman's Ravine. Russ enjoyed cooking breakfast for family, camping with friends, spending time on Cape Cod and in Wells Beach, Maine. He was a dedicated Yankees and Steelers fan. Russ was a selfless man who loved to help others. He was a caring, loving, and devoted son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be dearly missed.

Along with his mother, Marjorie, of Sutton, Massachusetts, and his wife, Nicki of 30 years, he leaves his sons, Kevin Fisher of Los Angeles, California, and Ryan Fisher of Manchester; his brother, James Fisher of Glastonbury; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, David and Mabel Ann Chapman; his sister-in-law, Tamara Lerro and her husband, Eric Quinn, of Dayville; his brother-in-law, Clarke Alderman of Sutton; several nieces and nephews; and his uncle, Richard Fisher of Jerico, Vermont. His sister, Cheryl Alderman, predeceased him.

His family will receive friends Thursday, Oct. 11, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor.

A funeral service will be held Friday, Oct. 12, 11 a.m., at the Center Congregational Church, 11 Center St., Manchester. Burial will be private at the request of his family.
