Ruth Clough, 87, of Manchester, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2013, at Manchester Memorial Hospital.

She was born on Feb. 23, 1926, in Manchester, daughter of the late John and Violet (Tedford) Clough. Ruth was raised in Manchester, attended local schools and had been a lifelong resident. She was employed for over 25 years with Southern New England Telephone as an operator and later as an instructor. Ruth was a former member of South United Methodist Church. She was a member of the SNET Pioneers Club and was active at one time with the Manchester Historical Society.
She is survived by her nephew, Harold J. Clough Sr., and his wife, Joyce; two grandnephews, Harold J. Clough Jr., and his wife, Toni, and their daughter, Angela, John Clough, and his children, Morgan, Mackenzie, and Michael; her grandniece, Rebecca Fiske, and her husband, Mike, and their children, Victoria and Alexis; and her cousin, Janice Mulcany. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Harold and Sherwood Clough.
Private burial will be in East Cemetery, Manchester. There are no calling hours.
