Terrell "Terry" Albert Brown, 66, of Coventry, beloved husband of Nancy Brown, was welcomed into heaven's sweet embrace Sept. 28, 2018, with his loving family by his side.

Terry was a sweet, strong Southern man born Dec. 21, 1951, in Opa Locka, Florida, to the late Mary Margene and Basil Franklin Brown. He grew up in the small rural town of Jones Chapel, Alabama, and became a local football hero at Addison High School. He pursued his love of aircraft and became an aircraft mechanic. After marrying and settling down with Nancy, he moved the family to Connecticut and was very proud of his long-term career at Pratt and Whitney. He was often recognized by the company for his skill, hard work, and dedication.

Above all else, Terry was a family man and a man of God. He demonstrated unconditional love and unwavering devotion through good times and bad. His faith in God was the rock on which he stood. He knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Lord Jesus Christ lived and reigned. Always willing to lend a helping hand, Terry touched many lives with his kindness and generosity. His handshake was as good as his word. He understood the value of the simple things in life - sipping a good cup of coffee, watching the birds in the backyard, and rousing family and friends with a funny story around the campfire in Maine. He loved the beach, especially vacationing with family on Cape Cod as well as on the North Carolina shore.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Nancy Eddy Brown; two daughters, Elizabeth Brown and Katherine Felch and her husband, Scott; two sons, Michael Guess and Jonathan Guess; three grandchildren, Rylan Guess, Aidan Arney, and Landon Guess; three siblings, Robert Brown and his wife, Judy, Beverly Howse and her husband, Micheal, and Doris McBrayer; Nancy's parents, John and Carol Eddy; and her siblings, David Eddy and his wife, Elizabeth, Garth Eddy, Laura Rival and her husband, Dale, William Eddy, and Martha Eddy; one aunt, Kathleen Watts; a host of beloved nieces and nephews; and his loyal beagle basset hound, Lady Louise. He was predeceased by his parents; brother-in-law, Tommy McBrayer; and sister-in-law, Susan Eddy.

There will be a memorial service Oct. 20, at Church of the Living God, 199 Deming St., Manchester, CT 06042. Family will receive guests at 10 a.m. with the service beginning at 11 a.m. and a reception to follow in the church Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Benevolence Fund at Church of the Living God. Checks may be made out to CLG Benevolence Fund. In keeping with Terry's generous spirit, this fund provides support to people going through challenging times in life.
