Walter L. Bednarz, 83, a longtime resident of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 20, 2013.

Born on Sept. 16, 1929, in Windsor, he was the loving son of the late Charles and Annie (Hoskins) Bednarz, and the beloved husband of 51 years to Leona (Sullivan) Bednarz. Walter was employed by Roncari Industry of East Granby and McGrath Construction of Hartford, retiring in 1994. Walter was an avid bowler and enjoyed gardening, spending time on the beach in Charlestown, R.I.

Besides his loving wife, Leona, Walter is survived by his loving son, Kevin L. Bednarz of Enfield.

The family would like to thank all of the staff for their compassion and care they extended to Walter while he was in Evergreen Healthcare, Johnson Memorial Medical Center, Parkway Pavilion, and St. Francis Hospital.

Visitation hours will be on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, followed by a funeral service at 6 p.m. Interment will be at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Johnson Memorial Hospital, Development and Community Relations, 201 Chestnut Hill Road, Stafford Springs, CT 06076-4005.
