Marianna (Szlachetka) Crowley, 78, of Enfield, loving wife of 53 years to the late Thomas G. Crowley, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at Blair Manor Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Services.

Marianna was born Dec. 17, 1935, in Poland, the daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Gwara) Szlachetka. She was a lifelong resident of Enfield and a faithful communicant of Holy Family Church. Marianna was employed with Connecticut Bank and Trust for many years prior to retiring in 2002 from Bloom Shapiro, where she worked in its accounts receivable department. Marianna was proud of her Polish heritage and listening to Polish music and cooking the traditional Polish cuisine. She also enjoyed watercolor painting and gardening.
Marianna is survived by three children, Timothy Crowley, Michael Crowley, and his wife, Cheryl, and Thomas Crowley all of Enfield. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Derek and Sarah Crowley; a brother, Stanley Szlachetka of Wethersfield; three sisters, Diane Szlachetka, and her partner, Susan Fagan, of Wethersfield, Stella Kowalczyk, and her husband, Stanley, of Dedham, Mass., and Alice Zajaczkowski of Enfield and several nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and her faithful and constant four-legged companion, Roy.
Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield.
A funeral procession will gather on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at the funeral home by 10:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 23 Simon Road, Enfield. Burial will follow in Enfield Street Cemetery.
