Myrtis (Horton) Bagley, 93, of Vernon and formerly of Manchester, beloved wife of the late Lawrence F. Bagley Sr., died peacefully, Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at Manchester Memorial Hospital.

She was born Aug. 21, 1920, in Hartford, beloved daughter of the late Willard and Florence (Bunce) Horton, she was raised in Manchester, attended local schools, was a 1940 graduate of Manchester High School and attended the Morse School of Business. Myrtis lived most of her life in Manchester before moving to Vernon in 1996. She was a Red Sox fan as well as UConn woman's basketball fan, and she enjoyed playing cards, especially setback.
Mrs. Bagley is survived by two daughters, Cynthia B. Martin, and her husband, Jimmy, of Vernon, Diane E. Carnelli, and her husband, Edward, of Glastonbury; her daughter-in-law, Joanne V. Bagley of Coventry; her sister, Elvina Balch, and her husband, Norman, of Bolton; four grandchildren, Larry F. Bagley III of Coventry, Michael Bagley of Middletown, Clint G. Martin of Stafford, Heather M. Sharp of Vernon; six great-grandchildren, Christopher, Thomas, Gracie, Mason, Isabella, Olivia; and a niece, Wendy Mancini of Manchester. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her son, Lawrence F. Bagley Jr.; and a grandson, John Bagley.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of the assisted living at Welles Country Village.
Per her request funeral services will be held at graveside Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at 11 a.m. in the Harrison section of the East Cemetery in Manchester.
