William (Bill) H. Folland, 86, of Vernon, beloved husband of the late Erma Jeanne (Barton) Folland, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014.

He was born July 12, 1927, in Boston, the son of the late William and Abbie (Hanscom) Folland, stepson to Alden Stanley, and grew up in Thomaston and Rockland, Maine. He served in the United States Army during World War II as a technical sergeant in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 73 of Manchester, the Manchester Elks, the American Legion, the Sphinx Shrine Temple of Newington, and was a communicant of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Manchester. He retired from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in 1992 as manager of NDT after 40 years of service, which included his family living in Belgium as part of the European F-100 engine program.
He is survived by his children, Barry Folland, and his wife, Kelly, of Vernon, Jennifer Folland, and her wife, Sandra Imbody-Folland, of Ludlow, Mass.; his grandchildren, Shannon and Christopher, and his wife, Beth; his great-grandchildren, Emma and Christopher Jr.; and his nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect St., Rockville, CT 06066.
A funeral home service will follow at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
